Prices checked October 2026. Estimates say so in the price itself. How we choose agencies: our method.
How we picked these
This page covers web design agencies with an office in London, checked against the postcode on each agency’s own site. Web design had to be a listed core service, with named client case studies. Wholegrain Digital is headquartered in London. The other six are based elsewhere and keep a London office, and each entry says which.
The order follows fit first: how central web design and build is to what the agency sells, and how closely its clients match a typical London buyer. After that we looked at what each agency can show, meaning measured results, published prices, a named team and stated support terms. This is desk research from public sources, and we have not worked with any of these agencies or watched them run a project. More on how we choose agencies.
1. Illustrate Digital

Illustrate Digital is a Cardiff-based WordPress and UX agency of about 17 people, founded in 2013, with Bristol and London offices. It works mainly for banks, insurers, law firms and Welsh public bodies, and suits regulated organisations with the budget for a full build.
What they do best
- Regulated-sector work you can check. Its 25 case studies include Admiral, GoCompare, Burges Salmon and Foot Anstey, plus a Drupal-to-WordPress migration for Board International.
- Results with a baseline. Foot Anstey rose 146 places to first in the Legal Digital 200 site-speed ranking after its rebuild, and Hodge Bank reported 76% more savings applications.
- A stated way of working. It publishes minimum budgets, a six-step project method, a named team with roles, and its address and company number.
Where they fall short
- A high entry price. It sets a floor of From £40,000 per build, the highest published floor on this page, so smaller projects are out of scope.
- No support response times. None are published, and its WP Engine Agency of the Year banner was not confirmed on a recognised organiser’s list.
2. morphsites

morphsites is a Somerset web development and digital marketing agency, founded in 2010, with a team of 35 or more and offices in Ilminster, London and Toronto. It covers web design, ecommerce, web apps, branding, SEO and PPC, and suits businesses that want a bespoke build plus search and paid media from one supplier.
What they do best
- Build and marketing under one roof. Retainers for SEO, PPC and AI visibility start at From £1,250 per month + VAT, with inclusions listed.
- A recent client roster. The homepage shows about a dozen case studies, including WilkinsonEyre, Legend, Gregory Distribution and PenCarrie.
- One anchored result. Coombe Farm Organic went from £0 to over £1.2m a year within 24 months.
Where they fall short
- No web build prices. Web design and development prices are not published, and several case-study results (400% for TBG, 1,100% for Raceworld) give no baseline or time window.
- Unnamed awards. The site claims awards but names none we could check.
- No stated account model. The team page lists staff by department, but no cadence or support terms are given.
3. Studio 24

Studio 24 is a Cambridge digital agency, in business since 1999, with a London office at King’s Cross and about 15 people. It builds accessible websites and web apps in WordPress, Craft CMS, Laravel and Symfony for public sector, charity and arts clients.
What they do best
- Verified accessibility recognition. The GAAD Foundation lists its W3C website redesign as a 2023 Gaady winner.
- Large public clients. The work page shows 17 case studies for W3C, Crossrail, HS2, UKHSA, RNIB and the Welsh Parliament.
- Buyable through frameworks. It is on G-Cloud 15 and DOS 7 and holds Cyber Essentials Plus.
Where they fall short
- No prices. A buyer outside the public frameworks cannot size a budget before contact.
- Few before and after figures. The UKHSA study reports a 5-week on-time build with a 99.99% uptime SLA, but most studies describe outcomes without measured results.
4. Evoluted

Evoluted is a Sheffield ecommerce agency of about 25 people, founded in 2006 and certified as a B Corp, with a London office. It combines Shopify and Laravel development, UX design and search marketing, and lists 37 case studies. It suits ecommerce brands that want a Shopify build and search marketing from one agency.
What they do best
- Search revenue with dates. Supplement Hub went from £79K a month in search revenue when appointed in April 2024 to £182K in July 2025.
- More measured gains. Puck Stop reports search revenue up 113% year on year, with conversion rising from 1.63% to 1.79%.
- Current work. The latest case study, Waxman Ceramics on Shopify Plus, was added in October 2026.
Where they fall short
- No prices or process. It publishes neither, and our figure of about £30,000 for a Shopify build is an estimate, not a quote.
- Unconfirmed awards. Its award claims are listed on its own site rather than confirmed on the organisers’ pages.
- No account model. No meeting cadence or support terms are published.
5. KIJO

KIJO is a Birmingham web design agency founded in 2014 by brothers Kirk and Jordan Thompson, with a London location and a remote team. It builds WordPress and custom sites for clinics, hospitality and ecommerce brands, and suits businesses that want a WordPress redesign with a stated starting price.
What they do best
- A stated starting price. The homepage FAQ gives a project floor (Most projects start around £10,000) and an 8 to 12 week timeline.
- Named client work. Case studies include Join Talent, Olympian Motors, Corinthia ESPA Life, Crucial Trading and Holyrood distillery.
- Headline commercial results. Olympian Motors reports £1.1 million in pre-order revenue in 6 months.
Where they fall short
- Only two people named. The site names only the two founders, so you cannot see who designs or builds your project before a sales call.
- Headlines without baselines. The results shown carry no starting figures, and CSS Design Awards wins claimed on its own pages were not confirmed on the organiser site.
6. Wholegrain Digital

Wholegrain Digital is a London WordPress-only agency of about 16 people, founded in 2007 and a Certified B Corp. It builds low-carbon, accessible sites for charities, research bodies and purpose-led businesses, and suits organisations that want carbon and accessibility targets written into the build.
What they do best
- A large, relevant portfolio. It lists 77 case studies, with clients including Oxfam, UNICEF, C40 Cities and Network Rail, and recent builds for CAMHRA and Environment Bank (2025).
- Written service terms. They set out quotes, design sign-off, payment stages and opening hours.
- A named team. The team page lists 16 people with roles.
Where they fall short
- No support service levels. It publishes no response times beyond office hours, so aftercare terms are unclear before a call.
- No prices. The contact form offers budget bands from under £5k to over £50k, and our estimate is about £25,000-£60,000 per site.
- Few client metrics. The Operation Smile study (161% more donation conversions) is the one client figure; others report speed or carbon measures.
7. Show + Tell

Show + Tell is a Leeds brand and web agency, founded in 2009, with London and Cambridge offices. It builds bespoke WordPress sites and brand identities for B2B organisations and property firms, and suits brands that want an award-recognised WordPress build.
What they do best
- Recognised visual work. Its Awwwards profile lists 15 Honorable Mentions and one Site of the Day, the latest dated 21 May 2025.
- A broad portfolio. The site has 36 case studies for clients such as DWP, Bettys & Taylors and Atlas Venture.
Where they fall short
- Few measured results. Only two of 36 case studies give a figure (Northern Energy: 64% more conversions; KAL: 34% more sign-ups), both without baseline or window.
- No prices. A buyer has little to check before a call.
- Leadership only. The studio page names four leaders and no delivery staff, account model or support terms.

What web design in London actually costs
A quote for a website is rarely the total bill. When you compare London agencies, check whether each of these sits inside the price or on top of it:
- Content. Copywriting, photography and video are often billed separately from design and build.
- Integrations. Payment, CRM and ERP connections add development time. Evoluted’s Waxman Ceramics build included ERP integration.
- Hosting and support. Illustrate Digital also sells retainers (from £3,000 a month for growth work), and ongoing hosting and maintenance usually sit outside a build fee.
- Research and testing. User research and accessibility audits may be scoped as a separate phase.
- Search and ads. morphsites prices its SEO, PPC and AI visibility retainer separately (From £1,250 per month + VAT).
As our estimate, a bespoke agency website in London costs from about £10,000 for a small WordPress build to £60,000 or more for a regulated or ecommerce project. The published figures on this page are Illustrate Digital’s From £40,000 per build and KIJO’s Most projects start around £10,000. The Evoluted and Wholegrain Digital figures are our estimates, and morphsites, Studio 24 and Show + Tell publish no web build price.
FAQ
Published figures on this page are From £40,000 per build at Illustrate Digital and Most projects start around £10,000 at KIJO. Our estimate for Evoluted is Shopify builds from about £30,000, and for Wholegrain Digital about £25,000-£60,000 per site. Studio 24 and Show + Tell publish no price.
Design, build and review calls happen online, so location rarely decides the outcome. A London base helps if you want workshops in person. Only Wholegrain Digital is headquartered in London; the other six agencies here keep a London office.
The labels overlap. A web design company usually covers design and build. A web agency often adds search, paid media or maintenance. morphsites and Evoluted add SEO and PPC to their builds, while Wholegrain Digital and Studio 24 stay with design, build and upkeep.
KIJO states a typical timeline of 8 to 12 weeks. Other agencies on this page publish lead times only in part or not at all, so ask for a dated plan before you sign.
